Key Responsibilities:

  • Train teams on effective job briefing techniques and tasks while ensuring job-related hazards are addressed.
  • Liaise with clients, property owners, the general public, other contractors, and representatives from utilities and government agencies.
  • Establish necessary communication with client representatives and secure permissions from property owners for work as required.
  • Direct crew members on specific job assignments.
  • Interpret orders from utility coordinators and regional leadership.
  • Participate in company training regarding regional safety protocols and ensure all work complies with these policies.
  • Manage job cost control and maintain accurate records.
  • Oversee inspections, ensure proper working conditions, and facilitate necessary repairs to tools and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency situations and assist with accident reporting and investigations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a DOT physical to obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Ability to supervise multiple teams and projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be capable of identifying hazards at job sites.
  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to visualize tasks, follow instructions, and work safely and efficiently.
  • This position requires a minimum 40-hour workweek, with Saturdays reserved for inclement weather make-up.
  • Previous outdoor work experience is required.
  • Willingness to travel for in-person interviews is necessary.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Foreperson in the pole inspection/restoration sector.
  • At least 3 years of driving experience with minimal non-moving violations.

Pre-Screen:

  • Upon offer, candidates may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and/or MVR check.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • A valid Driver's license is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain OQ certifications for Gas-related tasks.

Travel Requirements:

  • Overnight travel to and within project areas may be necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Rare: (less than 10%): squatting, depth perception, color vision, crawling, pushing, pulling, seeing distance, climbing ladders, balancing, gripping.
  • Occasional: (up to 33%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., climbing stairs, carrying, lifting, range of motion, reaching.
  • Frequent: (up to 66%): standing, walking, sitting.
  • Continuous: (up to 100%): seeing, reading, hearing-speech-range, speaking clearly.

Safety:

Due to the inherently hazardous nature of the industry and the need to work with or around dangerous equipment, employees must possess sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordinate equipment and tools. They must maintain focus and concentration for extended periods, endure exposure to various weather conditions while completing tasks, wear personal protective equipment as required, and have the stamina to navigate diverse terrains throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour workday. Additionally, employees must be able to communicate effectively, read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions, and manage conflicts professionally.
