Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreperson to lead our utility pole inspection team. As a Foreperson, you will be responsible for overseeing the inspection and maintenance of utility poles, ensuring that they are safe and reliable for the transmission of electricity and other utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of field workers in conducting routine maintenance and remedial treatment of wood poles used to carry power lines and other above-ground utility lines.
- Conduct thorough inspections of poles to identify any decay or defects, and develop plans for repair or replacement as needed.
- Manage and maintain all tools, vehicles, and equipment used by the team.
- Ensure that all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner, and that all team members are following company safety protocols.
- Collect and analyze data on pole condition and maintenance activities, and provide reports to management as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; experience with wooden pole inspection preferred.
- Ability to read maps and navigate in congested areas.
- Independently manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
- Mechanically inclined and has experience with a variety of tools.
- This is an outdoor position; the ideal candidate will understand the importance of adapting to various elements and weather conditions.
- This is a minimum 40-hour workweek with Saturdays considered inclement weather make-up days.
- Must have previous outdoor work history.
- Must be willing to travel for in-person interview.

Safety:
Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
