Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Logistics Operations Supervisor is accountable for overseeing shipping functions and managing the activities of shipping personnel during the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor. Key performance indicators will include optimal utilization of workforce, organization of the warehouse, accuracy and completeness of shipping documentation, and overall shipping efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee and coordinate shipping operations.
  2. Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures among all staff.
  3. Promote good housekeeping and safe work practices as integral to daily operations.
  4. Effectively resolve warehouse challenges using sound troubleshooting methods.
  5. Manage all shipping expedite functions, including:
    1. Receiving and processing customer orders and forecasts through various channels.
    2. Generating shipping paperwork and processing order modifications.
    3. Sending shipping notifications to customers.
    4. Arranging expedited freight shipments.
    5. Collaborating with customer plant material contacts regarding shipment issues, requirements, and logistics.
    6. Organizing and maintaining completed shipping documentation.
  6. Continuously optimize the organization of designated warehouse spaces and resources.
  7. Maintain efficient organization of external container storage areas.
  8. Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in ongoing operational efficiency improvement initiatives.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  2. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement to meet increasing demands for quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  3. Possess strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

  5. Maintain an organized and structured approach to work with meticulous attention to detail.

  9. Possess strong computer skills; prior experience with shipping order processing in a just-in-time environment is advantageous.
  10. Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.

COMPETENCIES:

  1. Successfully complete forklift training and obtain an in-house forklift operating license.
  2. Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a shipping or warehouse environment.
  3. Possess at least 1 year of experience in a leadership role.
  4. Have 1-2 years of experience with TS16949 or similar quality systems, or the willingness to be trained in such systems.
