Rosa Mexicano Restaurants, a NYC-based successful casual fine dining restaurant group, seeks a talented Sous Chef for our NYC market. As part of our culinary team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our food program.

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $80,000, taking into account the location and industry standards.

About the Position:

We are looking for a skilled professional with three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience. You will assist the Executive Chef/ Chef in all aspects of food preparation, including planning, ordering, inventory, and cooking.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the culinary team in achieving high-quality dishes and maintaining exceptional presentation standards.
  2. Work closely with the marketing and culinary teams to develop innovative menu concepts.
  3. Implement effective cost control measures to minimize expenses.
  4. Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation, safety, and sanitation procedures.
  5. Oversee the maintenance of clean and organized kitchen environments.
  6. Manage inventory levels to ensure timely restocking.
  7. Collaborate with the executive chef to create menus that align with seasonal ingredients and trends.
  8. Foster a positive and productive team culture.
  9. Stay up-to-date with local health and sanitation regulations.
  10. Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

  1. Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience.
  3. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  4. Ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
  5. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  6. Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
