Job Title: Executive Culinary Manager

At Elephante, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to lead our kitchen team and deliver an exceptional dining experience. This role involves managing daily back-of-house operations, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality service.

About the Role:

As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining food quality, safety, and cleanliness standards while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment. Your expertise will help shape Scottsdale's culinary landscape and contribute to the success of our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain professional appearance and uphold company standards.
  • Ensure guests' culinary needs are met with care and efficiency.
  • Oversee kitchen cleanliness and organization.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff to encourage growth and teamwork.
  • Create and manage staff schedules.
  • Monitor food safety, quality, and recipe consistency.
  • Supervise food preparation and service for regular dining, catering, and events.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct pre-service meetings to prepare the team for service.
  • Innovate new recipes and contribute to menu development.
  • Oversee opening, closing, and expediting procedures.
  • Communicate effectively to maintain seamless kitchen operations.
  • Lead by example with a positive and professional attitude.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of company's Sous Chef Training and valid Food Handling Certificate.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Culinary Arts degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong skills in leadership, menu planning, and problem-solving.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office and POS systems.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing repetitive motions.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
