Position Overview

M/I Homes, a leading name in the homebuilding industry with over four decades of expertise in constructing quality residences, is in search of a committed professional to fill the role of New Home Consultant. With a foundation built on outstanding customer service, M/I Homes has successfully assisted more than 140,000 homeowners in achieving their aspirations across 17 markets nationwide.

As a New Home Consultant, you will be instrumental in guiding clients through the home purchasing process. Your duties will encompass presenting our product features, architectural designs, and layouts tailored to meet the unique preferences of each client. You will act as a reliable advisor, working alongside internal teams to guarantee a smooth homebuilding experience and customer satisfaction throughout the journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transform visiting clients into prospective homeowners within our communities.
  • Leverage diverse resources to drive sales, including promotional materials, model homes, and realtor partnerships.
  • Achieve sales and customer service targets consistently with minimal oversight.
  • Stay updated on market dynamics and competitor activities to uphold M/I Homes' leadership in the industry.
  • Inform potential buyers about M/I Homes' offerings, community benefits, financing options, and more.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for homebuyers, providing assistance from the initial consultation to the final closing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and participate in division meetings to ensure effective communication and a streamlined homebuilding process.
  • Uphold M/I Homes' brand reputation by monitoring community aesthetics and home upkeep.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree preferred, but not mandatory. Equivalent experience in sales and marketing is acceptable.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in new home sales within the housing sector, demonstrating a successful track record in sales volume and customer satisfaction.
  • Goal-driven with the ability to balance individual contributions and teamwork.
  • Exhibits flexibility, confidence, creativity, resilience, self-motivation, and a strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications and open to adapting to new technologies.

Work Environment:

  • Weekend availability is required.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • A personal cell phone for business purposes and a valid driver's license are necessary.
  • Ability to showcase homes with multiple levels and different stages of construction.
