Job Overview

As a Residential Loan Consultant at Stock Yards Bank and Trust, you will play a pivotal role in driving loan volume through strategic sales initiatives with builders, real estate agents, and other industry contacts. A solid background in FHA, VA, and conventional lending is crucial for success in this role, complemented by a familiarity with fundamental underwriting principles. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively support our clients as you collaborate with all stakeholders to optimize loan transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Establish connections with individuals, real estate professionals, and builders, and participate in community meetings to broaden your network and boost sales.
  • Engage in marketing and promotional efforts, including delivering presentations to groups, aimed at increasing sales opportunities.
  • Consult with clients to gather loan applications, ensuring adherence to compliance standards while negotiating terms and conditions.
  • Collect, organize, and evaluate information to determine eligibility for various loan products offered by investors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and prospective clients, addressing inquiries and providing essential information from the initial sale through to closing.
  • Maintain close communication with processing teams to ensure timely loan closures.
  • Stay informed about FHA, VA, and conventional loan regulations and guidelines through ongoing education, training, and resources.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; a college degree is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is advantageous.
  • Experience in outside sales related to FHA, VA, and conventional lending.
  • Professional representation of Stock Yards Bank and Trust in all interactions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information both verbally and in writing.
  • A collaborative team player who is adaptable to changing circumstances and can meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in computer use with a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
  • Familiarity with basic underwriting principles is preferred.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.

Physical Demands

The employee will regularly be required to sit or stand and may occasionally need to move around the office to access filing cabinets or office equipment. The employee will consistently operate a computer, engaging in repetitive hand and finger movements, as well as using other office productivity machinery. The employee will often need to identify, observe, and assess materials and information, either visually or otherwise. The employee may be required to lift or carry up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally lift or carry 11 to 50 pounds with assistance as necessary.
