Kimpton Food and Beverage Management Intern

ACCOUNTABILITY:
Food and Beverage Managers

POSITION SUMMARY:
The main goal for our Interns is to establish a robust foundation and comprehension of hospitality within a diverse food and beverage program.

OVERVIEW OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operational Oversight
  • Participation in staff meetings, managerial discussions, and daily briefings
  • Development of weekly tasks, daily checklists, and staff assignments
  • Formulation of inventory management lists
  • Scheduling duties
  • Observing various management and frontline roles
  • Mastering service in all capacities including hosting, serving, and bartending
  • Effective Communication
  • Engaging in email correspondence with both on-site and corporate representatives
  • Facilitating coordination between departments
  • Marketing Initiatives
  • Participation in public relations meetings
  • Assisting in the creation of design briefs for marketing materials
  • Involvement in email and SMS marketing campaigns
  • Food & Beverage Management
  • Menu development (Food menu, Beverage menu, Bottle service menu, Beer menu, Premium spirit menu)
  • Designing quizzes for staff training purposes
  • Event Planning and Promotions
  • Brainstorming sessions for new concepts
  • Management of events both internally and with third-party event management companies

Skills Needed:

  • Must embody the Kimpton Culture
  • Ability to think innovatively and adapt to the evolving needs of Kimpton Hotels and the marketplace
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient command of the English language, computer literacy, and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated with both a collaborative and hands-on approach

Language Skills:

  • Proficient in all aspects of English, including reading, writing, and speaking

Education:
Candidate pursuing a bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or a related field

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform calculations and create formulas using Excel is a required skill set.
Hours of Operation: 40 hours per week. Schedule will vary based on business needs. Availability to work some evenings and weekends is expected. Position will report to the General Manager of Food and Beverage.
