Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Medical Billing Representative to join our finance department. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing, submitting, and following up on claims to third-party carriers, intermediaries, and patients.

About the Role

  • Preparation, submission, and follow-up of claims
  • Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records
  • Collaboration with team members to resolve issues and improve processes

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in a business or related field or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of patient accounting experience, including 1 year of electronic billing systems experience
  • Experience with medical posting, billing, and/or patient account service and problem resolution

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of hospital billing practices
  • Knowledge of healthcare payors, the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, and electronic remittance processing
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with team members
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of Basic Computer Skills

Compensation and Benefits

$18.35 - $27.23 per hour
