Patient Accounts Representative

Rutland Regional Medical Center seeks a detail-oriented Patient Accounts Representative to join our team. As a key member of our patient accounting department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely preparation, submission, and follow-up of claims to third-party carriers, intermediaries, and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation, submission, and follow-up of claims to third-party carriers, intermediaries, and patients
- Facilitating payment of patient accounts to maintain positive cash flow
- Providing timely responses to inquiries according to hospital procedures
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in a business or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2 years of patient accounting experience, including 1 year of electronic billing systems experience
- Experience with medical posting, billing, and/or patient account services and problem resolution
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Knowledge of hospital billing practices
- Knowledge of healthcare payors, the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, and electronic remittance processing
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work independently and collaborate with team members
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook

Pay Range: $17.46 - $25.91 per hour
