Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Financial Liaison Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

  • This position plays a crucial role in identifying payer sources for uninsured and underinsured patients, as well as determining patient financial responsibility for services and collecting co-pays, deductibles, and deposits prior to scheduled services.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, the hospital, and payers to ensure seamless communication and resolution of financial matters.
  • Review patient billing information to explain financial assistance programs and assist with insurance enrollment when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and financial transactions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, sociology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 2 years of related experience in a medical setting.
  • Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with diverse patients.
  • Moderate knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills.
  • Mathematical skills to calculate income, balances, and deposits.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.

Compensation:

  • The estimated salary for this position ranges from $17.50 to $25.91 per hour, depending on experience.
