Manufacturing Operations Specialist

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Foster a secure working atmosphere
  • Comprehend and comply with all Silgan safety regulations and protocols to avert injuries to oneself and colleagues
  • Generate finished products that fulfill or surpass our clients' expectations and specifications, while achieving these outputs at optimal cycle times for effective throughput
  • Assist in troubleshooting and/or relay information to the maintenance department to ensure that production standards are being met, including the documentation of variable parameters such as gram weight, S-1 dimensions, wall distribution, leak detection, and drop testing
  • Document information for shift reports, issues encountered, corrective measures implemented, and machine setting readings on designated forms
  • Maintain optimal cycle, blow, exhaust, and drying times while ensuring effective throughput of regrind materials
  • Execute assigned tasks for production changeovers related to labels, sleeves, weights, colors, resin types, and packaging on all blow molding machinery and associated production support equipment
  • Develop the skills and knowledge necessary to proficiently operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the manufacturing machinery at Silgan Plastics
  • Contribute labor for mold cleaning, setup, and minor preventive maintenance as directed by the Supervisor
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
