As the Engagement Director at Crown Point Retirement Center, you will be entrusted with the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability essential for executing your designated duties. The primary objective of your role is to plan, organize, develop, and oversee the comprehensive operation of the Activities Department, ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures. Your efforts will be directed towards creating an ongoing program of activities tailored to meet the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, assess, and manage the activity programs of the facility.
  • Engage in community planning that aligns with the interests of the facility and the needs of residents and their families.
  • Fulfill administrative tasks, including completing necessary documentation and submitting reports to the administrator as required.
  • Conduct daily rounds to ensure that activity programs are effectively communicated to residents.
  • Foster an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive engagement, while maintaining a calm environment throughout the facility.
  • Ensure that all necessary supplies for activities are readily available.
  • Assist residents in scheduling appointments as needed, which may include transportation to and from appointments.
  • Operate facility vehicles as required.
  • Participate in community service initiatives, inter-generational programs, and volunteer opportunities that promote human connection and purpose.
  • Advocate for positive changes within the facility and mentor new residents as they integrate into our community.
  • Incorporate activities that encourage friendships among residents and provide various entertainment options that promote enjoyment, fellowship, and personal wellness.
Qualifications
  • Ability to interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government representatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative spirit in working with other staff members.
  • Capability to move throughout the workday and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum of ten pounds over a distance of ten feet.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
