Position Overview

As the Engagement Activities Coordinator, you will be entrusted with the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for executing your designated tasks.

The primary objective of your role is to design, organize, and oversee the comprehensive operation of the Activity Department, ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, implement, assess, and lead the activity programs within the facility.
  • Engage in community planning that aligns with the interests of the facility and the needs of residents and their families.
  • Fulfill administrative tasks, including completing necessary documentation and submitting reports to the administrator as required.
  • Conduct daily rounds to ensure that activity programs are effectively communicated to residents.
  • Create and maintain a warm, inviting atmosphere that fosters personal interest and positive engagement among residents.
  • Ensure that all necessary supplies for activities are readily available.
  • Assist residents with appointments as needed, which may include transportation to and from various locations.
  • Participate in community service initiatives and inter-generational programs that enhance human connection and purpose.
  • Promote and advocate for positive changes within the facility, including mentoring new residents.
  • Incorporate activities that encourage friendships among residents and provide diverse entertainment options that promote enjoyment and camaraderie.
  • Focus on personal wellness, health, and vitality through engaging activities.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • The ability to interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
  • Strong leadership skills and a willingness to collaborate harmoniously with other staff members.
  • The capability to move throughout the workday and handle physical tasks as required.
  • The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry a minimum of ten pounds to a height of ten feet and a distance of ten feet.

Experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
