The Senior Vice President, Climate Risk Management will collaborate with the Director of Global Operational Risk to design, develop, and execute the Operational Risk Management (ORM) Climate Risk Framework for the organization. This role is integral to the enterprise-wide Climate Risk Management initiative, focusing on establishing essential standards for identifying, managing, monitoring, and mitigating the effects of climate change on the organization's operations, business continuity, and assets.

As a pivotal contributor, the selected candidate will outline framework requirements for integrating climate risk assessment into ORM's stress testing and scenario analysis processes. Additionally, they will implement governance structures for managing climate-related operational risks, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the operational climate risk framework across the organization.
  • Conduct independent assessments of climate-related operational risks and drive necessary actions within the first line of defense to address underlying issues.
  • Comprehensively analyze and communicate the implications of climate change—both physical and transitional risks—across various operational risk categories, including business continuity, operational resilience, third-party risk, human capital risk, technology risk, cyber risk, and fraud risk.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the ORM climate risk framework.
  • Resolve escalations from internal partners at the transactional level.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with business users and Lines of Defense to promote adherence to the climate risk framework concerning operational risk.
  • Manage and update a model for analyzing the impact of operational climate risks and associated reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in operational risk management.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels, with the ability to convey complex topics to diverse audiences.
  • Strong relationship management capabilities, with a focus on conflict resolution while maintaining professional relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, proficient in data manipulation and presentation. Expertise in Microsoft Office tools is essential.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
