  • POSITION OVERVIEW
    • Delivers safe and effective nursing care under the supervision of healthcare practitioners and the Clinic Supervisor, ensuring quality service for patients within the defined scope of practice. Aids practitioners in executing procedures, managing prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient documentation, and communicating test outcomes.
  • DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
    • The Urgent Care teams at Samaritan Health Services address medical issues that necessitate prompt attention but are not classified as life-threatening or severe enough for emergency department intervention.
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is mandatory.
    • Current RN licensure in Oregon is essential.
    • BLS certification for Healthcare Providers is required.
    • Familiarity with computer applications is preferred.
    • Prior experience in the relevant specialty area for the clinic is advantageous (e.g., obstetrics/gynecology; urgent care; dermatology).
    • AGH Urgent Care WI N Albany:
      • ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of employment.
  • SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Patient Care - Demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge to assist and care for patients. Ability to identify symptoms, understand drug properties and interactions, and apply preventive healthcare measures within the scope of practice.
    • Adaptability - Capable of responding promptly and effectively to diverse patient needs and high-risk situations. Ability to modify actions based on patient interactions to provide optimal care.
    • Communication - Proficient in both written and verbal communication to convey complex information, facilitate discussions among team members, and conduct presentations. Strong listening skills to comprehend intricate information and ideas.
    • Team Collaboration - Ability to work cohesively within a multidisciplinary team. Possesses the skills to foster constructive and cooperative relationships with colleagues over time.
    • Medical Knowledge - Familiarity with medical records, procedures, and terminology. Capable of interpreting and applying relevant policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
    • Social Awareness - Ability to engage with a diverse patient population, from children to the elderly. Basic understanding of age-related differences in patient care and communication. Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others, maintaining a non-judgmental approach.
