Job Overview

As a Traffic Engineering Specialist at Brightpath Associates LLC, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of traffic engineering initiatives for a wide array of public, private, and institutional clients. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering comprehensive traffic engineering solutions throughout Southern California and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the technical quality and coordination of diverse project assignments, necessitating a robust understanding of transportation and traffic engineering principles.
  • Conducting research and analysis, as well as traffic operations and safety assessments.
  • Designing and implementing signage, striping, and temporary traffic control measures.
  • Collaborating with team members and management to ensure compliance with agency requirements and quality standards.
  • Preparing detailed traffic and lighting construction documents, including technical reports, calculations, and specifications.
  • Representing Brightpath Associates LLC in interactions with agencies and contractors, participating in site visits and client meetings.
  • Assisting in securing agency approvals and maintaining familiarity with local regulatory requirements.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior engineering staff, assigning projects with clear timelines, and providing technical guidance.
  • Contributing to marketing efforts and proposal development as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering and design, specifically in traffic engineering.
  • Licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer (PE) and/or Traffic Engineer (TE) in California.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in traffic engineering, including experience in preparing reports, designs, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with local design protocols, regulatory compliance, and agency coordination.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Civil 3D and/or Open Roads software is advantageous.
