Overview:

Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering and planning studies.
- Conduct field assessments, including site reviews prior to design and support during construction phases.
- Develop conceptual designs that are not only accurate but also visually appealing and feasible.
- Prepare comprehensive plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for various transportation engineering projects, encompassing complete streets, bikeways, traffic signals, signage/striping, and lighting initiatives.
- Foster direct client engagement and facilitate communication with community members through effective outreach efforts.
- Drive business development by nurturing client relationships and preparing proposals and presentations.
- Mentor junior staff while also benefiting from the guidance of senior professionals.

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in the field of transportation engineering.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or a related discipline (e.g., geography, mathematics, statistics, economics).
- Current or future pursuit of a professional engineer's (PE) license.
- Proficient in applying Caltrans, MUTCD, and AASHTO design standards across various projects.
- Familiarity with the preparation and review of traffic signal, signing, and striping plans.
- Knowledge of safety countermeasures and their design.
- Understanding of mobility challenges and their implications for transportation engineering.
- Experience in leading proposals and fostering client relationships.
- A passion for mentoring and developing staff.

Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification.
- A commitment to engaging with and listening to diverse communities.
- Experience in quick-build project design and implementation.
- Knowledge of active transportation planning and design.
- Expertise in road safety planning and design.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 annually, determined based on education, experience, and qualifications.
