JOB OVERVIEW
This Supervisor will oversee the safe and effective operations of a bridge construction team. The Supervisor will organize, lead, and coordinate the bridge crew to ensure that safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. This position is classified as safety-sensitive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote a culture where safety is the top priority
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the bridge crew's activities
  • Interpret specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements and planning procedures
  • Assess work progress, equipment, or construction sites to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with specifications
  • Identify, measure, and mark site locations or placements of structures or equipment
  • Coordinate work activities with other ongoing construction projects
  • Collaborate with superintendents or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve issues or coordinate activities
  • Assist crew members engaged in construction tasks, utilizing hand tools or other equipment
  • Train and develop crew members as necessary
  • Maintain positive customer relations by acting professionally and courteously
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Must possess a clean driving record
  • 5-6 years of substantial experience in heavy civil construction, particularly in bridge work
  • 2-3 years of experience in team management and leadership
