Midwifery Program Coordinator Opportunity

The University of New Mexico College of Nursing is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Midwifery Program Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Nurse-Midwifery Program that is highly respected in the field.

About the Position

The Midwifery Program Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum in accordance with Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) standards. This individual will work closely with the Assistant Dean of Professional Graduate Programs to oversee the midwifery program, collaborating with midwifery faculty within the College of Nursing's faculty governance structure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement curriculum in accordance with ACME standards
  • Oversee the midwifery program in collaboration with midwifery faculty
  • Lead and facilitate the establishment of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) Endowed Professorship
  • Teach and maintain a portion of time in clinical practice
  • Provide leadership and administration for planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nurse-midwifery program
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in nursing
  • Doctoral degree in a related field
  • Three years of recent midwifery practice experience
  • Clinical and/or didactic teaching experience
  • Active midwifery license and national certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership and/or management experience
  • Experience working with rural and/or underserved populations
  • Experience in program administration and/or curriculum development
  • Experience teaching in a midwifery program
