Position Summary:
The University of New Mexico, School of Medicine and Health Sciences Center is actively seeking a candidate who will contribute to a climate of diversity and inclusivity. We invite applications for a Faculty Position in Midwifery. The Midwifery Division of UNM Obstetrics and Gynecology maintains a busy clinical practice and is engaged in educational activities.
The selected candidate will oversee women's health care, with a focus on pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, newborn care, and family planning and gynecologic needs. This role involves practicing within the healthcare system and providing consultation, collaborative management, or referrals based on the client's health status. The position adheres to the Standards for the Practice of Midwifery as defined by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the education and training of student nurse midwives, advanced practice providers, medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical settings. Opportunities for classroom education may also be available. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, along with experience working with diverse communities, is essential.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Master's degree (MSN)
- Participation in the Certificate Maintenance Program with the American Midwifery Certification Board (or eligibility)
- CNM license with New Mexico Department of Health (or eligibility) and RN license with New Mexico Board of Nursing (or eligibility)
- RN license with New Mexico Board of Nursing, State of New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification, and federal DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Experience in teaching adult learners
- Experience in a multidisciplinary environment
- Interest in clinical research participation
- At least one year of clinical experience in an academic medical center
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as experience working with diverse communities
