Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist acts as a primary resource for management and staff, offering guidance, support, and interpretation regarding employee relations matters, as well as human resource policies and practices. By providing coaching and consultation, the HR Generalist fosters a fair and consistent application of policies, enhancing the organization's employee relations culture while mitigating potential risks. This role also assists leadership in aligning operational and strategic goals with human resource objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the execution of the employee relations strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and initiatives. Collaborates with HR Business Partners and specialists to deliver integrated employee relations services that add value and effectiveness.
  • Addresses employee relations inquiries and implements relevant policies and procedures, including those related to discipline, grievances, and workplace conduct. Proactively promotes a performance-oriented culture through consultation on management practices and recognition strategies.
  • Serves as the initial contact for management and employees, providing expert advice on a range of HR issues, including performance management, employee engagement, compensation, and legal compliance.
  • Works alongside HR Business Partners and specialists to resolve complex employee relations challenges, ensuring adherence to corporate guidelines and supporting investigations as necessary.
  • Assists in the design and execution of special projects and HR initiatives, including organizational development strategies, change management, and recruitment planning.
  • Creates and delivers training materials and communications related to employee relations. Develops tools and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of employee relations programs.
  • Generates reports and conducts data analysis to measure the effectiveness of employee relations initiatives, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • A minimum of two years of general human resources experience is required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee relations practices, laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of HR policies and procedures, along with the organizational vision.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with a strong focus on conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service orientation and capability to build rapport with internal and external partners.
