Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist acts as a key resource for management and staff, offering guidance, support, and interpretation regarding all employee relations matters, as well as human resource policies and practices. By coaching and advising managers, the HR Generalist fosters a fair and consistent application of organizational policies, promoting a positive workplace culture while mitigating risks. This role also aids leaders in aligning operational and strategic goals with human resource objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitates the execution of the employee relations strategy, providing localized insights for the implementation of related programs and initiatives. Collaborates with HR Business Partners and specialists to ensure that services are effective and aligned with both departmental and organizational objectives.
- Addresses employee relations inquiries and enforces policies and procedures related to discipline, grievances, and workplace issues. Offers consulting support to cultivate a performance-driven culture, including guidance on performance management and recognition strategies.
- Serves as the primary contact for leadership and employees, providing advice on a broad range of HR topics, including performance management, workforce engagement, and employment law compliance.
- Collaborates with HR Business Partners and specialists to resolve complex employee relations challenges while adhering to corporate guidelines. Assists in conducting investigations and resolving employee relations cases.
- Supports the design and implementation of special projects and HR initiatives, focusing on organizational development strategies, change management, and recruitment planning.
- Creates and delivers educational materials and communications related to employee relations. Develops tools and templates to enhance employee relations processes and evaluates the effectiveness of programs.
- Generates reports and conducts data analysis to measure employee relations performance indicators, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
- A minimum of two years of general human resources experience is necessary.
Skills and Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of employee relations operations, relevant laws, and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of HR policies and procedures, along with strong communication and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Customer service-oriented with a focus on building and sustaining professional relationships.
