Position Summary:
Tennant Company is in search of a Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance the Operations Department's goal of achieving operational excellence and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction through continuous improvement initiatives and effective problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in addressing action items from Tier III meetings.
  • Collaborate with management, engineers, and staff to optimize manufacturing capabilities and production schedules.
  • Work alongside Manufacturing Engineers to develop efficient processes, leveraging technology and design improvements.
  • Support New Product Engineering and oversee new product launches.
  • Promote best assembly practices in alignment with Tennant's H.E.A.T. (Hydraulics, Electrical, Adhesive, Torque) Program.
  • Conduct activities necessary to maintain ISO Certification for the Quality Management System.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of business processes related to the Quality Management System at the assigned site.
  • Maintain a presence on the production floor to support team success and build positive relationships.
  • Analyze future manufacturing needs and justify capital equipment investments.
  • Champion Lean solutions to minimize waste and lead cost improvement initiatives.
  • Manage projects aimed at developing new technologies and processes.
  • Create and implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and boost productivity.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement Events (Kaizens) and ensure proper documentation of quality-related procedures.
  • Oversee the editing of reports concerning Quality indicators and monitor company processes in line with strategic plans.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong prioritization and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Solid blueprint reading and metrology skills.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with familiarity in an ISO environment. Proven experience in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, calibration, Continuous Improvement, and Lean manufacturing principles. Experience with SAP or similar ERP software is preferred. A demonstrated history of innovation, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to challenges is essential.
