Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Quality Technician plays a crucial role in assisting Engineers and Production personnel with daily operations and addressing issues related to customers and suppliers. This position involves operating testing equipment and gathering data to ensure the quality of products before they are dispatched to clients.


Key Responsibilities:


• Conduct inspections of products utilizing gauges, coordinate measuring machines, scales, oscilloscopes, and vision systems prior to shipment.

• Perform testing on incoming raw materials.

• Measure critical quality attributes of processes by sampling components and analyzing trends.

• Ensure all gauges and testing machines used for quality monitoring are calibrated and maintained properly, which may include using test standards and masters for verification and adjustments.

• Address customer complaints regarding product quality by performing necessary measurements and analyses to resolve issues, including evaluating or sorting returned items.

• Implement the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure that all requirements for new or modified parts or processes are understood, documented, and communicated to suppliers.

• Preferred experience in hand soldering.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.



Qualifications:


• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Additional college coursework or certifications are advantageous.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality Assurance role.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


• Familiarity with TS 16949 or ISO 9001 / 2000 standards, electronics, IPC, PCB, and experience as a TS or ISO Auditor, with the ability to understand GD&T and read blueprints.

• Proficient in statistical process control techniques, GR&R, GD&T, and print reading. Strong understanding of calibration and use of gauges, problem-solving skills, and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Capability to operate or learn to program computer-aided inspection equipment or electronic testers while maintaining consistency in programming methods.
