Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at AHRC New York City. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the administration of HR-related responsibilities, including onboarding, background checks, benefits administration, and adherence to employment law and requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operations support and supervision to the HR Function, including managing onboarding processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of hiring packet information and documentation.
  • Manage and facilitate workflow processes, standards, and procedures within the HR Function to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide support and training to HR Specialists and Coordinators as a subject matter expert.
  • Engage in providing back-up on a broad range of functional tasks, including coordination of onboarding processes, payroll change notices, separation notices, and benefit enrollment changes.
  • Plan, coordinate, implement, and participate in effective employee communications initiatives.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Supervise regular and temporary staff in the HR Function, including establishing appropriate assignments and scheduling, providing guidance and training on assigned tasks, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years of experience in human resources, benefits, or payroll.
  • Familiarity with and/or experience in personnel administration and related legal employment policies.
  • Experience working in a human resources department with direct interaction with employees and senior management.
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office applications and capacity to undertake use of other automated human resource database systems.
