JOB SUMMARY

The primary objective of this role is to effectively plan, schedule, and release manufactured and procured components and assemblies while aligning with the company's goals concerning inventory management, sales volume, product cost, scheduling, and customer requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Authorize, release, and track the status of production and purchase requisitions.
  • Contribute to the development of the Manufacturing build plan.
  • Establish priorities and communicate support functions while actively engaging in problem resolution as necessary.
  • Collaborate with all shop departments to maintain appropriate inventory levels—possessing a solid understanding of plant operations and equipment design to plan effectively.
  • Review and release work orders based on system demand, manage system-recommended messages, and maintain work order dates in accordance with organizational metrics.
  • Regularly assess non-conformances and engineering changes to adjust work orders as needed.
  • Continuously update work order due dates in response to variations in in-house capacity and vendor delivery schedules.
  • Keep the Planning manager informed about changes that may impact part lead times to ensure the system remains current.
  • Regularly review and adjust safety stock levels in the system as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the delivery of work orders to guarantee timely completion.
  • Examine material shortages and resolve discrepancies between CPO material plans and actual manufacturing requirements in collaboration with Engineering.
  • Monitor purchase order deliveries to ensure punctual arrival.
  • Assist in the timely definition of part number attributes during the item master setup process, ensuring relevant data is current (e.g., analyst codes and lead times).
  • Verify that Engineering BOM aligns with work order BOM.
  • Propose material substitutions to address shortages and/or utilize existing inventory.
  • Release MIT kits for shipment as necessary.
  • Review Quality Plans and 3rd Party Certification as required.
  • Create Shop packets, including routers, assembly/machine/weld drawings, SOPs, MTRs, and weld/coating specifications.
  • Submit JIRA requests to the warehouse for material pulls, issue to work orders, and deliver to the appropriate staging area.
  • Analyze work order variances, document findings, and take action for resolution. Submit approval for work order closure reports to QC - Mini MRB team.
  • Review reports of Engineering Change Notices and Non-conformance, adjusting plans as necessary to accommodate.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in inventory control and planning.
  • APICS CPIM certification is desirable.
  • Experience in an Engineered-to-Order or Make-to-Order manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP Planning is preferred (Oracle experience is advantageous, but other ERP experience will be considered).
  • Comprehensive understanding of MRPII planning levels, processes, and tools is preferred.
  • Strong grasp of supply chain dynamics.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Oracle experience is preferable, but other ERP experience will be considered.
