Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will participate in the planning and expediting of materials for the various Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) facilities. You will evaluate material and production schedules and progress,and maintain a continuing review of the status of the free issued materials for these OSM facilities and provide management with material status information and resolutions. You will work with the project's buyers, expediters and material planners, as well as suppliers, initiate follow-up, monitor quality, and prepare evaluations. You will report and receive operational direction from the OSM project procurement manager. #LI-AM3

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists with material planning and expediting activities for the OSM yards.
  • Creates and maintains status reports for free issued materials to OSM yards.
  • With guidance, verifies that material requisitions clearly identify required items and reflect a level of detail in which materials will be shipped and identified for storage and control prior to distribution to Construction for installation.
  • With guidance, ensures the material identification methodology permits accurate status and distribution of materials according to the priority and sequence of OSM construction activities.
  • Assists in identifying out-of-sequence engineering deliverables or lengthy approval requirements that could impact the timely issuance of the key engineering deliverables that drive the materials work process.
  • Evaluates production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if suppliers' programs and work progress meet OSM requirements
  • Coordinates with planning and scheduling, material coordinators or project expeditors / buyers and construction to establish priorities, sequences, and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly
  • Expedites Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval, and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers
  • Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates
  • Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of standard office productivity tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, and including simple table, query, report and macro design.
  • Good oral and written communication skills regarding technical and production matters with both project and supplier personnel
  • Proficient in organizing tasks for completion by an agreed deadline
  • Advanced knowledge in Field Engineering and Construction activities, and knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures related to materials management functions.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of the Digital Supply Chain System, Engineering tools and other project data systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of all procurement operations related to the management of materials at area, regional, temporary and jobsite office locations.
  • Advance knowledge on the management of material fabricators.
  • Advanced knowledge of all Engineering disciplines, the work process and the deliverables produced.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable Bechtel policies, instructions, and Procurement procedures and guidelines.
