Meador Staffing Services is proud to represent a prominent organization in the fields of motion, technology, and instrumentation. They are currently in search of a dedicated BUYER/PLANNER to enhance their team in Houston, TX.

The Buyer/Planner will play a crucial role in overseeing the acquisition of materials and services, ensuring alignment with quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This position encompasses the planning, scheduling, and supervision of material flow throughout the production process to guarantee prompt product shipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate requests for quotations and process purchase orders with authorized suppliers.
  • Issue purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect pricing, timelines, terms, and conditions.
  • Negotiate and resolve claims concerning damages, rejections, losses, returns, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering modifications.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee production capacity to maximize on-time delivery rates.
  • Maintain and verify the accuracy of open purchase orders, quotes, work orders, and part master data.
  • Address shipment quality issues by facilitating communication between suppliers and manufacturing teams.
  • Engage in supplier site evaluations to assess production capabilities, performance, and delivery metrics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, proposing ideas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Adhere to Government/Commercial Practices Manual (GPM/CPM) policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 4 years of negotiation experience; REQUIRED
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems, REQUIRED

  • $60K-80K annually
  • Full-Time Position
  • Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM
