Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Technician to join our team at the City of Coral Springs. As a key member of our Utilities Department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical tasks in the maintenance and repair of our water treatment and collection facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical maintenance, replacement tasks, and repairs to water treatment and collection facilities and equipment, including pumps, piping, wells, and water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
  • Prepare and submit work estimates for work orders, locate vendors and contractors to supply materials or labor, and perform inspections of facilities, equipment, and water and wastewater system facilities and appurtenances.
  • Assist in the water valve turning and fire hydrant maintenance program, operate a variety of hand and power tools for both electrical and mechanical repairs, and maintain various mechanical maintenance and repair records and logs.
  • Locate and mark City-owned utility property and equipment, assist and respond to emergency situations related to water distribution and wastewater collection systems, and perform administrative duties including customer contact, paperwork, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Class B Florida Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Two years of experience in semi-skilled utilities maintenance and repair work, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • FDEP Water Distribution Level 1, 2, 3 Licenses, must be able to obtain within one year of hire
  • Backflow Prevention Certification, preferred
