Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated ASL Interpreter Specialist to join our team at Soliant. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic group of professionals who are passionate about providing exceptional support to students with significant medical and educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, facilitating their academic and social growth in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring a smooth and productive learning experience for all students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure seamless coordination and support.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as sign language interpretation, deaf education, and special needs support.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience working with children in grades K-12, preferably in a special education setting.
  • CPR certification and authorization to work in the United States.
  • Associate's degree or passing score on the ParaPro assessment, with a strong foundation in sign language interpretation and deaf education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
