We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Collections Specialist to join our team at Pacific Medical Inc. in Tracy. As a Medical Collections Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate payment from insurance companies for our medical services.
Key Responsibilities:- Contact insurance companies to resolve past due bills and negotiate payment plans.
- Enter Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) into our system and research returned claims to ensure accurate reimbursement.
- Conduct phone and written follow-ups with insurance companies to resolve unpaid claims and maximize cash collection.
- Research and resolve open accounts quickly and professionally to minimize delays in payment.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in medical collections or a related field.
- Ability to type 31-45 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of medical records and ability to read and interpret them.
- Familiarity with Endeavor and/or Medicare IVR systems.
- Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and ability to read and interpret them.
- Understanding of HMOs and PPOs and their payment structures.
- Ability to work with patients' medical records to determine correct Medicare criteria.
- Hourly rate pay range: $16.00 to $26.00.
- Annual range: $33,280 to $54,080.
- Overtime rate pay range: $24.00 to $39.00.
- Example of annual overtime range: $5,000 to $19,500+.
- Bonus opportunity: production bonus up to $750 per month and profit bonus up to $1,000 per month.
