About the Role

Afton Properties, a leading real estate management company, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our properties, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance and direction to maintenance staff, including maintenance technicians, porters, and housekeepers, to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
  • Work Order Management: Schedule and follow up on work orders and projects assigned to the maintenance team, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the purchasing and inventory of maintenance equipment and supplies to ensure necessary items are in stock and ready for use.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of vacant units and common areas to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Training and Development: Conduct regular training sessions for maintenance staff to ensure they are up-to-date on best practices and industry standards.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Experience: Five to ten years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in a residential, hospitality, or similar industry.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical degree preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical; experience with budget management and record-keeping; excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies, often weighing up to 50 pounds; ability to climb ladders and work at heights, including on roofs and in attics; ability to work in confined spaces, such as crawl spaces or mechanical rooms.
Working Conditions

The Maintenance Supervisor may be required to work outdoors in inclement weather and may be exposed to hazardous materials and chemicals. The position may also require working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
