Job Overview:

The Food & Beverage Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that all dining experiences across various outlets, including Room Service, Lounge, and Banquets, are delivered with exceptional service and efficiency. This position is pivotal in managing payroll and operational costs while striving to enhance sales performance to surpass financial targets.

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in hospitality or a related sector; alternatively, a 2-year college degree with 3 years of experience, or a 4-year degree with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and company-approved software for spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience is essential.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information effectively.
  • Quick and accurate decision-making skills are required.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in high-stress situations.
  • Maintain professionalism and objectivity in challenging circumstances.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, including anticipating and addressing issues proactively.
  • Capability to process complex information from various sources and adapt it to meet specific needs.
  • Strong listening skills to understand and resolve concerns from colleagues and guests.
  • Competence in handling financial data and basic arithmetic functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage with guests and staff in a friendly, attentive, and service-oriented manner.
  • Adhere to attendance standards as per the company's scheduling requirements.
  • Uphold high standards of personal grooming and uniform compliance.
  • Follow all company policies and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Comply with necessary certifications relevant to the position, including Food Handlers and Alcohol Awareness.
  • Maintain a welcoming and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Understand the hotel's organizational structure and the function of each department.
  • Train all Food and Beverage/Banquet staff in accordance with company standards.
  • Address and follow up on all guest requests, complaints, and incidents in the dining areas.
  • Inspire, guide, and manage all F&B personnel according to company policies.
  • Review staff hours for payroll processing and submit timely reports to the Accounting department.
  • Assist in the development of management personnel as directed by corporate leadership.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and conduct training sessions as needed.
  • Oversee the hiring process for F&B positions in accordance with company procedures.
  • Create employee schedules based on business forecasts and budget guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate completion of wage progress and productivity reports.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for employees as per company standards.
  • Implement all company policies and house rules effectively.
  • Assist in the development and execution of Food and Beverage promotional strategies.
  • Monitor beverage costs to ensure they align with budget expectations.
  • Focus the F&B Department on enhancing guest service scores.
  • Ensure compliance with training standards set by the company.
  • Maintain adherence to company policies regarding purchasing and financial documentation.
  • Encourage sales initiatives, including upselling programs for service staff.
  • Ensure service standards are consistently met across all dining operations.
  • Participate in management coverage as scheduled.
  • Prepare and submit necessary F&B reports according to company guidelines.
  • Complete forecasting and budgeting for Food and Beverage in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all F&B employees provide attentive and courteous service to guests and colleagues.
  • Conduct quarterly inventory assessments and plan for necessary purchases.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding credit and financial transactions.
  • Respond to market trends by implementing promotional strategies.
  • Facilitate monthly department meetings and weekly F&B discussions as per company standards.
  • Attend daily operational meetings as required.
  • Manage beverage purchasing and inventory as necessary.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of beverage inventories.
  • Ensure food quality and presentation meet company standards.
  • Foster professional relationships and maintain open communication with all departments.
  • Oversee Banquet operations effectively.
  • Utilize the hotel's P.O.S. system for report generation and analysis.
  • Establish and maintain key control systems.
  • Complete monthly menu analysis and submit reports as required.
  • Monitor and address any cash discrepancies in Food and Beverage operations.
  • Assist management in maintaining emergency procedures.
  • Organize and maintain a comprehensive filing system for all operational documentation.
  • Complete correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Engage in all-employee meetings and other required functions.
  • Maintain effective communication with all employees, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Implement necessary changes in P.O.S. systems as required.
  • Manage lost and found items according to established standards.
  • Maintain required stock levels for all supplies.
  • Review daily food sales for accuracy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
