We are in search of an engineer with prior experience in water and wastewater infrastructure to contribute to an ongoing municipal water infrastructure initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain communication with selected trade partners and oversee some subcontract administration, including defining work scope, addressing inquiries, and monitoring progress.
  • Engage in change management and the change order process, including pricing, processing, and evaluating cost and schedule impacts prior to review.
  • Oversee project document control and procedures (coordinating RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals while maintaining as-built drawings, etc.) for both building and civil projects.
  • Collaborate with the project team lead to supervise design, ensuring timely responses to the submittal schedule.
  • Review trade partners' submittals for compliance with scope and design documentation before forwarding to design for evaluation.
  • Coordinate with the project manager and superintendent to manage and report on overall project performance concerning site health, safety, environment, cost management, schedule, and quality.
  • Prepare and oversee progress claims and estimates.
  • Manage inventory and tracking of materials and equipment, expediting material orders as necessary.
  • Assist with site inspections from the design team to address constructability and site coordination issues, ensuring compliance with functionality, jurisdictional requirements, and building codes.
  • Participate in overall project closeout activities, including document archiving, maintenance, warranty manuals, and addressing deficiencies and warranty work.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a construction operational role is preferred.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or architecture is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety, and environmental standards, quality, building materials, and required industry standards.
  • Ability to apply fundamental engineering and problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exhibit flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective planning, organizational, and time management skills, with the capacity to multitask, prioritize work, and delegate simpler tasks.
  • Ability to develop a comprehensive project schedule.
  • Capability to coordinate subcontract agreements and contract documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technologies.
