KBR is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to oversee all aspects of planning and execution for small to mid-sized projects at a local client site. This role also involves leading and taking responsibility for a mid-sized engineering and design team.

This position requires full-time onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote safety and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Conduct work in alignment with Client and KBR Core Values.
  • Lead a team of over 35 professionals, including designers, engineers, project leaders, and support staff.
  • Be accountable for team performance in terms of safety, operability, quality, budget, and schedule.
  • Establish goals and objectives that align with client expectations and execute the company’s vision for the site design team.
  • Oversee the execution of minor project capital and non-capital expenditures exceeding $20 million, including monthly reporting on costs and account statuses.
  • Manage the production of deliverables across various engineering disciplines, including mechanical, process, piping, electrical, and structural designs.
  • Act as the primary contact for the Client, coordinating internal and external engineering resources.
  • Regularly collaborate with KBR home office engineering and project control teams to support both small and large capital projects.
  • Work closely with site engineering and client personnel to explore alternative solutions and cost-effective options.
  • Make strategic decisions and provide guidance to department leads, maintaining a succession plan.
  • Ensure compliance with process safety management, environmental health and safety, mechanical integrity, and quality assurance standards.
  • Lead project management efforts to ensure adherence to engineering and design processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage in client project planning and participate in monthly project reviews.
  • Collaborate with engineering experts and construction management personnel.
  • Champion the principle of minimal changes, ensuring that only necessary modifications aligned with business objectives are approved.
  • Provide effective leadership to foster a cohesive team environment, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage project execution to achieve business objectives within the agreed scope, cost, and schedule while prioritizing environmental protection.
  • Develop and implement Project Quality Plans, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
  • Conduct routine project field audits to promote safe work practices and design excellence.
  • Oversee the execution of the Site Safety Plan and report on safety performance indicators.
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding processes for new team members, supporting their professional development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with at least ten years of industrial experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and drive them to successful completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with the FEL/Gate Review Process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in Project Management within an industrial setting.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or SAP.

Physical Requirements:

This role is based in a chemical plant environment, which may involve:

  • Exposure to varying temperature conditions.
  • Frequent walking on construction sites, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Some lifting, up to 20 lbs.
  • Using standard Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Engaging in standard office activities, including prolonged sitting or standing.
