KBR is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to oversee all stages of planning and execution for small to mid-sized projects at a client site. This role also involves leading and taking responsibility for a mid-sized engineering and design team.

This position requires daily onsite attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote safety and ensure safe work practices among all team members.
  • Conduct work in alignment with Client and KBR Core Values.
  • Lead a team of over 35 designers, engineers, project leaders, support staff, and administrators.
  • Ensure overall team performance, focusing on safety, operability, quality, budget, and schedule.
  • Set and align goals and objectives with client expectations, executing the company and client vision for the site design team.
  • Oversee the execution of minor project capital and non-capital expenditures exceeding $20 million, providing monthly reports on team costs and account statuses.
  • Manage the production of deliverables across various engineering disciplines, including mechanical, process, piping, electrical, and structural designs.
  • Act as the primary contact for the Client, coordinating internal and external engineering resources.
  • Regularly collaborate with KBR home office engineering and project controls to support both small and large capital projects.
  • Work with site engineering and client personnel to explore non-capital alternatives or lower-cost options.
  • Make strategic decisions for the team and provide guidance to department leads.
  • Ensure compliance with process safety management, environmental health and safety, mechanical integrity, and quality assurance standards.
  • Lead project management efforts to ensure adherence to engineering and design processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage in client project planning and monthly reviews.
  • Collaborate with engineering experts and construction management personnel.
  • Champion the principle of minimal changes, ensuring that only necessary adjustments are approved.
  • Provide effective leadership to foster a cohesive team environment, clarifying roles and responsibilities, managing workloads, and facilitating communication.
  • Manage project execution to achieve business objectives within defined scope, cost, and schedule parameters.
  • Develop and implement Project Quality Plans, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
  • Conduct routine field audits to promote safe practices and best design practices.
  • Oversee the execution of the Site Safety Plan and report on safety metrics.
  • Coordinate recruitment, interviews, evaluations, and onboarding of new team members, fostering talent development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of ten years of industrial experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and drive them to completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with the FEL/Gate Review Process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in Project Management within an industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or SAP.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves working in a chemical plant environment, which may include:

  • Exposure to varying temperature conditions.
  • Extensive walking, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Some lifting may be required, up to 20 lbs.
  • Use of standard Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
  • Standard office activities including prolonged sitting and standing.
