Job Overview
The Accounts Receivable Operations Manager will be responsible for supervising a team dedicated to managing aged receivables through thorough research, analysis, payment processing, resolution of discrepancies, and coordination with external vendors. This role will direct the daily collection activities, including data analysis, reporting, escalations, and collaboration with various internal departments to enhance operational efficiencies. The manager will also engage in collector duties as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Accounts Receivable Collections team.
- Act as the primary point of contact for issues affecting significant clients, customers, and internal departments.
- Execute collector responsibilities as required to meet performance objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and identify efficiency opportunities.
- Set, manage, and communicate departmental goals for both individuals and the team.
- Exemplify leadership qualities and coach, mentor, and motivate team members while ensuring accountability.
- Establish regular one-on-one meetings to promote open communication.
- Create and implement a comprehensive training program for new team members.
- Collaborate with IT to address challenges and improve system support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Over 5 years of progressive management experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the Insurance, Banking, or Financial sectors is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
- Collaborative leadership style.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback.
- Ability to set and achieve ambitious goals in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in data automation and analysis of large datasets.
- Proficient in documenting workflows and processes.
- Some travel may be required, though not frequently.
