Role Overview:

As a Thermal and Fluids Vehicle System Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Vehicle Integration Team, specifically working on the lunar lander project. Your primary focus will be on the integration of thermal and fluid subsystems, ensuring their seamless functionality within the vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and verification of the Fluids/Thermal Interface Control Documents (ICD) for the lunar lander.
  • Define and oversee testing and verification activities related to the Fluids/Thermal ICD, ensuring comprehensive documentation of the verification data package.
  • Monitor thermal conductivity across major components of the lunar lander to inform thermal analysis.
  • Review and update the Component Temperature List (CTL) for the lunar lander.
  • Contribute to the formulation and documentation of the vehicle's Fluids/Thermal requirements and verification data package.
  • Lead or support vehicle-level requirements and associated verification and testing activities, particularly in thermal and fluids integration.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with thermal and fluids integration.
  • Develop test plans, define scopes, and establish success criteria for vehicle-level fluids and thermal requirements.
  • Support test execution and conduct data reviews for the integration of fluids and thermal systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of thermal and fluid subsystems in spacecraft.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations pertaining to thermal and fluid systems in aerospace.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering practices and integration processes for mission-critical systems.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as Ansys, Matlab, and CFD software.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to foster trust and maintain positive professional relationships, contributing to an inclusive workplace culture.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Aerospace, Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in designing and integrating pressure and temperature interfaces in aerospace or deep space lander systems.
  • Over 7 years of proven experience in relevant fields.
  • Familiarity with the full spacecraft design lifecycle.

The compensation range for this position varies based on location and experience.
