We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to oversee the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of flight hardware for various spaceflight systems at Blue Origin. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the GS1 AFT Module Integration team, ensuring product quality, and implementing cost reduction processes.
Key Responsibilities- Team Management: Build and manage the GS1 AFT Module Integration team, including developing resource plans, authorizing job descriptions, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
- Interface with Leadership: Collaborate with area leadership to prioritize work based on production schedules and organizational goals.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement cost reduction processes and efficiency improvement measures.
- Manufacturing Operations: Implement and refine new manufacturing processes, work with engineering to document and standardize production processes, and collaborate with engineering to develop production-ready manufacturing approaches.
- Training and Development: Assure continued training and skills development to attract, develop, and retain great people.
- Setup and Transition: Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling, and equipment setup, and assist with transition from development to production.
- Forecasting and Recovery: Forecast and develop recovery plans for constraints critical to vehicle delivery schedules.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
- Leadership Experience: Direct or indirect leadership experience working on aerospace development programs or production lines.
- Structural Integration: Experience with structure and integration, including fluids and tubing installation, instrumentation, electrical cabling/harness routing, bracketry, avionics, and general aerospace/launch vehicle assembly.
- Technical Skills: Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
- Communication and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment.
- Physical Demands: Climb ladders/stairs, work in small, restricted areas, work at heights on work stands and in lifts, and perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbs.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Hiring and Evaluation: Ability to set a high hiring bar while evaluating and hiring top talent.
- Customer Focus: Extremely customer-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances.
- Continuous Improvement: A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on optimizing processes and improving efficiency.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work off-shift, extended hours, overtime, and weekends if necessary.

- Trust and Relationships: Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Leadership Experience: 3+ years in a direct or indirect supervision position, working on aerospace development programs or production lines.
- Scheduling and Planning: Broad or deep scheduling and planning skillset, including project planning and integrated master schedules.
- Resource Loading: Proficiency with resource-loaded schedules using Primavera (P6), Open Plan, MS Project, or other software.
- Aerospace Experience: Experienced in handling large aerospace components and working in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Military Experience: Military experience is a plus.
