Role Overview:

As a key member of our skilled team, you will engage in the testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of fluid systems linked to space vehicle launch facilities. Your work will involve high-pressure gas, hydraulic systems, raw water, and environmental control systems. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of space exploration, demanding your unwavering dedication to safety and repeatability in spaceflight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with diverse teams to construct, operate, and maintain a premier launch site.
  • Develop and execute procedures for commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and fluid system operations.
  • Conduct safety analyses and guide operations using established safety protocols.
  • Manage and maintain launch pad piping systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Support the commissioning and operation of new or modified piping and pressure systems.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
  • Flexibility to work second shifts when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in design or operation of fluid systems.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve shared objectives.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee or asylee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in operating and troubleshooting mechanical and piping systems.
  • Experience with high concentration hydrogen peroxide.
  • Familiarity with standard components and fabrication methods for piping systems.
  • Knowledge of fluid components typically used in tubing and piping systems.
  • Experience in writing and executing test plans for safety-critical components.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and installation drawings for piping systems.
  • Understanding of ASME B31.3 and oversight of piping system construction and testing.
  • Experience with aerospace fuel, oxidizer, and high-pressure pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of precision cleaning processes and verification levels for stainless steel.
