Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director, Inclusion and Belonging to join our team at the League of Women Voters of the United States. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our organization's efforts in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Strategic Practices: Design and implement consistent practices and strategic frameworks across the organization to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Integrate DEI Principles: Lead the incorporation of diversity, equity, and inclusion into programmatic creation and change management processes to ensure a culture of inclusion.
  • Oversee HR and Systems Operation: Manage and align human resources and systems operation to support the organization's mission and goals.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Support measurement and evaluation approaches to achieve organizational goals and ensure ongoing responsiveness to qualitative improvements.
  • Foster Cross-Organizational Collaboration: Collaborate across the organization to develop and employ effective operational strategies and campaigns to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Build Stakeholder Buy-in: Engage stakeholders and shepherd new systems and processes to enhance membership, revenue, and engagement.
  • Communicate Strategically: Deliver clear and comprehensive communication of strategies and execution plans to staff, membership, and the board.
  • Partner with Leadership: Collaborate with institutional leadership, special committees, and consultants to execute and deliver key initiatives.
  • Mentor and Manage: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of individuals within a collegial environment.
Requirements
  • Education/Certifications: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Human Resources experience required. Advance degree in management, leadership, or administration, or equivalent experience in public service, government, or private sector, preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Experience developing and driving diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in organizations. Progressive experience leading teams with varied expertise in an operational or administrative environment. Track record of building thriving, disciplined, cohesive teams.
