Role Summary

The Chief Inclusion Officer will deliver strategic, value-driven, and data-informed leadership to nurture an inclusive atmosphere where every individual, irrespective of their role or background, is treated with fairness, dignity, respect, and empathy. Building upon existing initiatives, the Chief Inclusion Officer will work alongside leaders and staff throughout IREX to design, lead, and execute strategies that embed these inclusive principles and organizational values into all facets of our programs, culture, strategic planning, and operations, including interactions with participants, partners, donors, and other external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Development: Formulate and implement medium- and long-term strategies for Organizational Inclusion that align with IREX's core values, culture, policies, and strategic objectives.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish measurable goals to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of inclusion initiatives across the organization, including the development of data collection and analysis systems.
  • Leadership: Oversee personnel, budgets, knowledge management, and stakeholder relationships. This includes recruiting, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams, managing budgets for inclusion activities, and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a key advisor on Organizational Inclusion, providing insights and guidance to executive and senior management teams.
  • Communication: Create effective communication channels to gather feedback from IREX's global workforce and partners regarding inclusion policies and practices.
  • Collaboration: Build and maintain trust-based relationships with all stakeholders to ensure that IREX's inclusion objectives are integrated into policies and practices.
  • Global Representation: Manage a structure for regional representation and systems to regularly assess the effectiveness of the global Organizational Inclusion program.
  • Knowledge Management: Continuously review and enhance IREX's knowledge management content and training materials related to Organizational Inclusion.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred, particularly in fields such as organizational development, international development, or business administration.
  • Over 12 years of progressive experience in advancing inclusion within international organizations.
  • A strong understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, with experience in designing and implementing transformative organizational activities.
  • Proficiency in data systems for evidence-based decision-making.
  • Experience in managing training programs and knowledge management systems.
  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in additional languages preferred.
