Position Overview

Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated EHS Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in developing and managing comprehensive environmental, safety, and maintenance programs that align with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote Employee Safety: Implement proactive safety initiatives to protect staff from potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Consultative Role: Advise management on health and safety issues, identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actions.
  • Committee Leadership: Lead EHS committees and coordinate their activities to foster a culture of safety.
  • Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents to identify root causes and develop preventative measures.
  • Compliance Inspections: Regularly inspect work areas and equipment to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
  • Training Programs: Develop and deliver EHS training sessions to enhance staff awareness and compliance.
  • Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records of EHS activities and compliance training.
  • Equipment Readiness: Ensure safety equipment and supplies are readily available and in good condition.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about changes in EHS regulations and implement necessary adjustments within the organization.
  • Environmental Management: Oversee the Environmental Management System and ensure all policies are followed.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, safety engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in EHS.
  • Experience in conducting EHS training and knowledge of ISO standards.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
