POSITION OVERVIEW: Senior Azure Managed Services Engineer

Role Summary:

Presidio is in search of a Senior Cloud Managed Services Engineer specializing in Azure to contribute remotely. The Senior Engineer will collaborate with clients on their critical applications hosted on AWS and Azure public clouds, delivering both engineering expertise and technical assistance. Our engineering team collaborates closely with Professional Services, ensuring a comprehensive experience for our clients while fostering opportunities for professional advancement within and beyond Cloud Managed Services. We prioritize innovation, continuously enhancing customer experiences through automation to tackle intriguing challenges.

Interview Note: Candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview at a nearby Presidio office. Active cloud certification(s) must be demonstrated.

Travel Expectations:

This role entails minimal travel, up to 5%, and is primarily remote.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion enhancements to the Managed Services delivery framework.
  • Exhibit mastery of operational best practices to ensure effective support.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure, providing senior-level technical direction on all related systems, tools, and applications.
  • Possess deep expertise and strong analytical skills to independently troubleshoot, resolve, and identify root causes of complex issues.
  • Document solutions for the internal knowledge base and facilitate cross-training initiatives.
  • Manage client intake and escalations, troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges autonomously.
  • Enhance the optimization, redundancy, and reliability of cloud systems, including proactive monitoring and management of services.
Essential Skills:
  • Expert-level understanding and troubleshooting of Kubernetes/AKS.
  • Proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, ARM Templates, and Azure Automation.
  • Networking knowledge, including Network Topologies, Site-to-Site VPN, and Express Route.
  • Expertise in Identity & Access Management, including Lighthouse, Policy, RBAC, PIM, AAD, and Management & Resource Groups.
  • Experience with observability tools like Log Analytics, Network Watcher, and Azure Monitor.
  • Security and Governance knowledge, including Defender, Advisor, and Sentinel.
  • Experience with Azure Native Backup and Patching Automation.
  • Active cloud service provider certifications.
Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience in Managed Services within a cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of Express Route configuration and troubleshooting.
  • History of customer-focused support roles.
  • Understanding of the Azure CSP model and Azure Networking topologies.
  • Familiarity with Datadog.
  • Experience in multi/hybrid-cloud infrastructure support.
  • Strong ownership in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Self-motivated with a robust work ethic and a passion for problem-solving.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, including military experience.
  • Over 6 years of experience in Cloud Technologies and Operations.
