Job Summary

This role involves working closely with the sales team to service established accounts and grow customer sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing the products and services provided by Timber Products Company, with a focus on hardwood and softwood plywood, as well as international sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing strategic customers by understanding their needs and delivering on expectations.
  • Execute the established sales plan using personal sales skills and product knowledge.
  • Identify new business opportunities by prospecting accounts within the guidelines set by Plant and International Sales Managers.
  • Sell 180-day list products and floor stock items from Company plants, including shop and other downfall items.
  • Work with the plants on order flow planning and customer scheduling.
  • Provide customer service, including servicing product claims and shipment information.
  • Provide feedback to Sales Managers and team members on market conditions and product availability.
  • Enter orders efficiently and accurately into the company ERP system.
  • Analyze and process legitimate product claims and shipping errors as necessary.
  • Provide phone coverage for incoming calls from current and prospective customers with other sales team members.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of sales experience in a related field, preferably in the wood products industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and a variety of software programs.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment.
