As part of this commitment, we are seeking a Nursing Admissions Specialist to facilitate the application process for nursing programs. This role is essential in providing administrative assistance to nursing faculty and ensuring a smooth selection process for applicants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide prospective students through the nursing program application process and offer administrative support to nursing supervisors and faculty during the selection phase.
  • Oversee all activities related to the instructor-initiated withdrawal policy.
  • Act as the admissions liaison with various college divisions concerning dual enrollment.
  • Manage the reporting process of required records to external agencies.
  • Provide technical support to students regarding the PeopleSoft Student Information System (SIS) and the admissions application.
  • Regularly update the admissions and records website, review applications, send acceptance notifications, and process student deferment forms.
  • Assist with student registration, deliver exceptional customer service, and support other administrative tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Uphold the college's mission to empower individuals through education and skill development.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with the public and community college stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Fairness and adaptability in engaging with a diverse student population.
  • Proficient organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Competent keyboarding and computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with general office procedures.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a collaborative postsecondary educational setting.
  • Understanding of college admissions and records policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Student Information System (SIS) or similar systems.
