The Nursing Admissions Specialist plays a vital role in facilitating the admission process for aspiring nursing students. This position is integral to ensuring that potential candidates receive the necessary support and guidance throughout their application journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist prospective students in navigating the application process for nursing programs while providing essential administrative support to nursing faculty and supervisors during the selection phase.
- Coordinate all aspects related to the instructor-initiated withdrawal policy to ensure compliance and clarity.
- Act as the admissions liaison, collaborating with various college divisions regarding dual enrollment opportunities.
- Oversee the documentation and reporting processes required by external agencies.
- Deliver customer and technical support by guiding students through the PeopleSoft Student Information System (SIS) and the admissions application.
- Maintain and update the admissions and records website, review applications daily, dispatch acceptance notifications, and process student deferment requests.
- Facilitate student registration, provide exceptional customer service, and assist with additional administrative duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Uphold the college's mission to empower individuals with the opportunity to learn and acquire the necessary skills for personal and community growth.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with the public and community college stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- A fair and adaptable approach to engaging with a diverse student population.
- Proficient organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Advanced keyboarding and computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with general office procedures.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while paying attention to detail.

- Experience working in a collaborative postsecondary educational setting.
