Position Title: Agricultural Program Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation, oversight, and coordination of state and federal programs.
- Manage program budgets effectively and procure necessary goods and services to achieve program goals.
- Interpret and communicate policies, procedures, and regulations related to agricultural, forestry, or environmental programs.
- Provide essential information and technical support to local government officials and community members.
- Conduct informational meetings and workshops to educate stakeholders on agency policies and grant opportunities.
- Administer grant processes, including reviewing applications and preparing performance reports.
- Support reforestation efforts by engaging in tree improvement activities and providing management oversight.
- Monitor fire weather conditions and assist in fire mapping and documentation.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in agriculture, forestry, environmental science, natural science, or a related discipline, along with one year of relevant experience in environmental regulation or a similar field. Additional qualifications may be considered upon approval.
Skills and Competencies:
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws governing agriculture, forestry, and environmental programs.
- Proficient in planning and analytical techniques.
- Ability to manage grant-funded initiatives and ensure progress aligns with objectives.
- Capability to develop and implement best management practices while providing technical assistance to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in conducting inspections to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.
- Strong data analysis skills and report preparation capabilities.
