Position Overview:

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Program Coordinator. This role is essential in facilitating the operational functions of the Center for the Study of Tobacco, which encompasses communication, community education, outreach initiatives, and database management for grants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Center's Director and faculty, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations related to travel and procurement of supplies.
  • Assist in budget oversight and ensure adherence to UAMS policies and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Implement processes and standard operating procedures with a focus on quality and compliance.
  • Coordinate logistics for regular research team meetings, ensuring effective collaboration among team members.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the Center, facilitating communication across UAMS and with community stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized records and databases, ensuring timely data entry and management.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop educational materials and presentations based on reliable scientific information.
  • Participate in training and educational programs to enhance personal and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of experience in administrative or program coordination, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with the ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team.
